I'm participating in the link-up today for very selfish reasons. We have our big ultrasound on Friday and are lame, so we're not finding out the gender. Therefore, I need solid name choices for both genders to choose from. We have some finalists floating around, but I'm not sure how in love with them I am. I NEED to be in love with them...and so does the hubs, so "let the games begin."
We had Braxton's name picked out for years prior to starting our family. It comes from a very reputable place;-) We watched the first season of, "The Simple Life," with the esteemed actresses Paris Hilton & Nicole Ritchie and they went to stay with a family that lived on a farm. The family they stayed with had the most adorable little boy, named Braxton. We both loved the name and his utter cuteness didn't hurt and we never even considered another boy name if that's what we ended up having. We did NOT name him after Braxton-hicks contractions, LOL!
His middle name is Wade's father's first name, which I love. Everyone (except me) calls him Mike, but I've always liked to call him Myron;-)

Side note: when googling for a photo, there were way more versions of this show than I ever thought possible and didn't end up seeing!
Some name possibilities that we've thrown around, but aren't for sure on the short list::
- Colton-I like it, but think it's fairly popular these days.
- Georgia-main contender last time. Wade's late grandpa was named George and I still think that's a super cute nickname for a girl!
- Scarlett-still a possibility, but it's a bit edgy.
- Broderick-apparently this is Steve Harvey's real first name we learned last night from "Family Feud". He was named after a fat white cop from an old t.v. show:-) I love it, Wade's not sold!
Excited to read the rest of the link-up's and get some good ideas! Feel free to leave a comment on any suggestions for either gender as well!

Ok i know I sent you names already but I must say I need to add GEORGIA to my list I LOVE IT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Georgia and Scarlett, so southern belle! There was another blogger who posted about those names, too. Thanks for linking up! I hope you got some good ideas. :)
ReplyDeleteGeorgia is adorable!!! I have always liked Scarlett too. The boy names are cute too but I just think you'll have a girl...based on nothing...:)
ReplyDeleteWhat about Georgiana? You could still call her Georgia for short. I have a much harder time with boy names. I'll do some thinking for you and post again.... :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love Scarlett or Georgia! Classic names! Good luck name-hunting!
ReplyDeleteGreat names!
ReplyDeleteI like the way Braxton and Broderick sound together...
