Why I Can't Wait to Lose Weight Again! (Including stats)

Obvs. I'm in the "weight gain" phase of life considering I'm pregnant and all.  Gaining weight is never fun or easy, but feels especially hard after I successfully shed the baby weight after having Braxton and then proceeded to get down to my lowest adult weight ever (149#'s), holla!

Being that it's still the beginning of a new year and all, it's fun, yet hard to read about everyone's progress shedding the LB's.  I'm proud and excited for you all, but sometimes wish that I was in the same boat (not more than I wish/am happy to be pregnant).  I just love that sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when making progress down the scale.  I'm a little envious to be feeling that again.

One way I can participate and make things easier on myself is to not gain more weight than I need to with this pregnancy (while not restricting myself, FYI).  Comparing my stats to pregnancy #1, I'm on the same weight gain track (comparing the first 19 weeks this time to last time), but started this pregnancy 23#'s lighter, which is hugely helpful!  To put it in better perspective:

Pregnancy w/Braxton (2011)
Starting Weight: 172#'s (1/1/11 just prior to conception)
Ending Weight:   213#'s (last OB appt. on 10/11/15)
Total Gain:         +41#'s

8 mo's pregnant w/Braxton
I stopped tracking (and probably taking photos;-) before I hit 200#'s in my own journal, but remember seeing 213#'s at the doctor prior to delivery.  That's a 41# weight gain overall.  Not horrendous, but I can do better this time around (I hope!).  I lost 20#'s within a week of delivering him though and was back in the 100's in no time (attributed mainly to breastfeeding;-)

1/17/12 WW Start Photo
I started "seriously" tracking/losing weight on 1/17/12 and weighed in at 181.6#'s the day I started WW's on-line (about 3 mo's post pardem).  I was trying to diet/exercise prior to then, but not with any structured plan.  Between then and when I got pregnant with #2 (late September, 2012) I got down to my lowest weight of 149#'s.

 Current Pregnancy
Starting Weight:  149#'s (9/18/12 just prior to conception)
Previous Weight: 158.6#'s (2/3/13 19 weeks pregnant)
Current Weight:   159.2#'s (2/5/13); It's going up too fast!!
Ending Weight:     ??#'s (Goal to not go above 180-185#'s)
Gain so far:          +10.2#'s

18ish weeks here w/#2
After my trip to Vegas/finding out I was pregnant (late Sept. '12), I gained a few lbs, but I'm going to use 149 as my "starting weight" for pregnancy #2.  I did a good job maintaining between 152-155 for awhile (thanks partially to a lot more morning sickness this time around), but have gained 5-7#'s in the last 2-3 weeks.  It's possible I've been over eating as I now have an appetite/food is DELICIOUS!  And since I can't have a beer/glass of wine, the next best thing is something sweet;-)

Increased activity and monitoring both my weight and what I put in my mouth is my biggest "plan of attack."  I'll keep posting weekly pregnancy/activity/weight stats, which is another way to stay accountable.

Ultrasound on Friday:-)  Remember it's a surprise!  (Meaning we're not finding out the gender).

  1. I think you have a great attitude going into this pregnancy - gaining an appropriate amount of weight, continuing to exercise and eat healthy and you will be so much ahead of the game with your lower starting weight this time too!
